1. GLU CH 12 Vocabulary Quiz

  • Students may use vocabulary HW on the quiz!
2. Article: "Sex trafficking: The new American slavery" by Lefi Coorlim and Dana Ford
  • Pre-Read: Complete the pre-reading steps: Annotate title, author, publication information, features of the text, number the paragraphs.
  • Read and annotate for claims, and types of evidence (use your types of evidence handout!)
  • Chunk the text:
    • Draw a line where you think the introduction ends (it can be more than one paragraph)
    • Go through the rest of the article and draw a line where there is a change in subject/focus or a shift in topic. Determine which paragraphs go together.
  • Claim Statement: Write a sentence stating the authors' main claim(s) in your own words (paraphrase)
